What is Cascadia Online?

Cascadia Online is a collection of articles and resources put together by people wishing for Cascadian Independence. Our goal from working on this website is to primarily raise awareness of the possibility of Cascadian Independence. Cascadia we traditionally view as Northern California, Oregon, Washington and British Colombia. We, who started writing here, are primarily from Oregon.

Why would we want such a thing? This is the question we hope to answer in our articles, and links that we provide here. We work on the basis of the fact that we have seen Oregon descend into poverty. We have seen this Oregon. Those of us who lived in Eugene, Oregon have noticed that Eugene would grow to achieve the highest municipal unemployment in the nation, despite being home to at least four corporations. Those of us from Portland, can’t walk across a street of our beloved city, without seeing the homeless.

Politically, we are different. We’ve attempted a Health Care System administrated by the local government. We have legalized euthanasia, we talk often of medicinal marijuana and abortions. The issue isn’t whether or not you agree with these issues, the fact of the matter is whether or not you believe that a state has the right to decide which laws govern it, and who should decide which laws govern which people.

Culturally we are different. Socially we are different. Let us expand upon these issues, and the necessity of Cascadian Independence. I hope the readers of this page will learn something about what we attain, whether you agree or disagree. Whether you are left wing, right wing, or prefer a middle path. Whether you are an environmentalist or not.
