The Raison d'Étre What I see today, and what many have probably noticed, is that this is a website that attracts a lot of young, unorganized communists, and in many cases, helps school them in their ideology (or the other half of the time, they become nazis and freak out on us.)
There is a lot of potential that we have not tapped here, and a lot of help we could give each other, and potentially also the world.
I am willing to bet that the majority of users here are under the age of 18. This is not a bad thing, this however means that you do not have as many political rights as those of us who are over 18. That the influence of your parents and your economic status means that you may not be allowed to be particularly vocal about your views.
What I am proposing is that we establish a political group online. Clearly there will exist two fronts on which we must decide things. What we wish to achieve internally, and more ambitiously, what we wish to achieve more externally.
Internally speaking, I think it's important if we create an organization that can help influence, and educate young communists (on this forum, and perhaps elsewhere) on dialectics, analyses, history, and current events. We can provide a basis of knowledge for each other on a specific political event in another country. We can use our experiences in finding a political party, in helping others find a political party. If a person wants help explaining to his or her parents about their ideological choices, there is an opportunity here to create a basis of support, and perhaps even more aid to these persons in dealing with their parents (and I do not mean in a hostile manner, but in a manner that could help their parents understand that their children are not suddenly bloodthirsty atheists.)
Going further, every person here is an expert in something. Even if they don't know they are. They know something about how something works, that other people do not know. And this knowledge is valuable. If we can help each other share and pool our collective knowledge, there is another resource we have. Schooling each other in certain areas is also a necessity when it comes to theory, and socio-economic studies in general.
From this we could make even more groups, a literature group, etc. etc.
Externally speaking, I do not know how ambitious you people are willing to become. But this is the internet, and we as an organization or a union, can affect it if we want. We decide our own level of involvement. We could try to aid local politics in areas that our comrades live by perhaps writing "editorials" or letters to the editor ourselves. We could write news articles and offer them to left-wing newspapers, like a free-form of Reuters. We could publish our literary or filmographic reviews. We could review music, or rate music. We can inform people out the conditions we live in as youth with regards to having to decide our careers now.
The goals are up to debate, depending on what the members of Soviet Empire want.
The debate on structure, how we should divide our work, how it should be organized centrally, and upon what principles we should be founded. Can come after we realize that we want such an organization.
And this organization will not be politically exclusive, we are not going to discriminate against Trotskyites or Stalinists, or any other form of international socialism. |
